When I was in graduate school, I created a series of interactive books with a character named "Dougy" for my son who is on the Autism Spectrum. I recently updated them (they were pretty outdated design-wise) and I will be sharing them for free on Teachers Pay Teacher periodically.
The second book in the series is Back to School with Dougy. It is an adapted (picture symbol sentence strips) and interactive (velcro pictures to move around the pages) book. Students will love helping Dougy find all of his school supplies (targets object function).
I also made comprehension pages to go along with the book in three formats: picture answers, multiple choice, and fill in the blank.
